We haven’t posted a blog in a few months and I feel the urge to resume the creative flow! As everyone in the entire world knows, we are still experiencing the nightmare that is Covid 19. Charlton Furniture was forced to close for several months in the spring as the country tried to get a handle on the spread of this virus. The staff stayed in touch via Zoom as well as with carefully orchestrated parking lot meetings where we were able to touch base with each other and speculate about how business would be when we re-opened. The truth of the matter is that we missed each other’s company! We had spent more time at work together than we did with our own families, as many people can relate.
June 8th rolled around and business at Charlton Furniture was allowed to resume. What we found was that people were very motivated to refresh their interiors, probably due to the fact that they had been spending record amounts of time in their homes. Family vacations were cancelled, dining out slowed down, and households decided to dedicate some attention to acquiring comfortable, well made, and stylish furniture. That’s where we shine! Charlton Furniture offers a level of quality that can’t be duplicated with online furniture buying.
The feedback we received from the shoppers in our showrooms was that they were tired of poorly made, imported merchandise that arrived on their doorsteps un-assembled, requiring a degree in rocket science to put together, and that ultimately needed replacement shortly after. Many people, young and old, that didn’t blink an eye about purchasing online imports before are now choosing to buy goods that are made in the United States. People are shopping small businesses and are showing pride in supporting the companies who call this country home. This is Charlton Furniture’s specialty and we are here to assist!
