This month, in our Design Center, we are taking on a few painting projects to spruce up for Spring! For one display area, we have chosen a beautifully deep shade called “Dark Pewter” by Benjamin Moore. The idea of going dark and bold can be intimidating, but honestly, it is one of the most effective ways to get your furniture to “pop’ in its space. Something special, dare I say, magical happens to the other colors in the room when they are surrounded by intensely pigmented walls. Bright colors are amplified, finishes and sheen are pronounced, textures become more interesting, and warm and cool metals give off a little extra sparkle! You can create a formal feeling by adding contrast and drama with dark color, or you could embrace a playful aspect of dark walls with chalkboard paint which is highly entertaining for the kids! If you are in the mood for something different, and you wish for a quick fix, try a darker color- It’s an inexpensive but highly rewarding way to mix things up!
