Hooray for…Great Style

This summer, we had the opportunity to work on a project that was inspired by the Hollywood Regency style…which is, in my opinion, one of the most fabulous styles in the entire world!  This look is not what the typical New England customer usually goes for when they are furnishing their homes.  It has lots of glamour and sparkle and metallic boldness.  The style is a nod to Hollywood’s golden age when movie producers created ridiculously opulent sets to attract major star power for their films.  The movie stars then translated the excessive details into their personal spaces creating a signature of their wealth and enormous success and popularity.

We’ve been watching as the current trends are bringing back a touch of gold here and a splash of richly colored velvet or pattern there.  A glass topped cocktail table or a beautiful bar cart are also welcome details in modern day furnishings.  There is a lot of freedom of expression that comes with this style which makes it so fun to incorporate!  It’s all about unusual and flashy accessories and multiple textures and patterns.  It allows for a bit of the unexpected which is refreshing and easy to blend into existing furnishings.  Add in some mirrors, lacquer, and/or marble and you will be well on your way to having your own slice of timeless, enchanting luxury in your very own home!
