As you’ve probably heard, Massachusetts is having its annual Sales Tax Holiday Weekend on August 17th and 18th. This is the perfect time to purchase that new furniture that you’ve been eyeing! (During the 2015 Tax Holiday, MA shoppers saved $25 million! -WWLP News)
The exemption is only valid on those dates but… nothing says that you can’t come in and pick out what you want beforehand. Furniture and upholstery choices take time, and no one wants to rush such an important decision. Let us help you now so that you can process your purchase later. By pre-selecting your furniture, you can avoid the crowds on that Saturday and Sunday. (we aren’t allowed to place your order until then, though). Some other guidelines to consider:
- Each item purchased must be $2500 or less. Your complete order can be more if EACH ITEM is less. Since we sell dining tables and chairs separately (not as sets), your purchase could be tax free! The same applies to bedroom furniture; unlike many other stores, you can choose the individual pieces that you want instead of being obligated to a “set.”
- Your purchase must be paid in full on the Tax-Free Weekend. Ordinarily, we place your order with a deposit, but the state rules ask that it be paid for in entirety.
- The Mass Tax-Free Holiday is intended for personal purchases by Mass residents only. If you are buying for your business, taxes still apply. ☹
